Geocache Description:

This cache is part of an 8 cache multi in the town of Busti.

Please check the long description for a description of each stop on the trail!

The Busti Hamlet Development Group has generously donated a limited number of wooden nickels for those who complete the trail. The wooden nickels will be in the final stop of the cache. Please only take 1 nickel per cacher.

Please no night caching, you will be visiting parks, memorials, and private property.

Each stop is a cache container, ranging from Micro to Regular. Caches range from park and grabs to a couple that will make you walk a little. Caches placed on public property have the town's permission, and the caches on private property have the owners permission. Each container will have a log and 1 digit of the final coordinates. 5 of the 8 containers are large enough to accommodate some swag, geocoins, and/or small trackables.

JC Matteson Memorial
This monument was constructed in honor of Sgt. Matteson, a U.S. Army soldier from Southwestern Central School who was killed in Fallujah, Iraq, in 2004. The AMVETS donated the statue to the town of Busti and it was decided to place the memorial in the Busti hamlet. The monument was dedicated in Busti on 11/1/2008, and serves as a memorial to all soldiers killed in action since WW1.

Please treat this area with the respect a memorial of this type deserves.
