Santa Fe Trail Ranch Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Cedar Crest Cachers: Due to impending construction of a new bridge, this cache is being permanently removed. As the kids have now grown, and they are the ones who put it there, it's probably down for good.

Geocache Description:

I-25 follows the Mountain Branch of the original Santa Fe Trail. The Cimarron Route (plains route) was shorter and didn't go over Raton Pass, but there were hostiles along that route. The Mountain Route was safer but longer.

The cache has to be within a few hundred feet of the original Santa Fe Trail since the Trail came through the canyon and it's not that wide at this point.

The cache is a plastic painted container with log, pen, and few contributions from the kids to start it off. It's right off of I-25 just North of Raton pass. Shouldn't be too many muggles around. No need to cross the bridge -- it's private land that way.
