An "earworm" is a song that gets stuck in your head after you
hear it (usually first thing in the morning) and stays in your head
all day.
The "earworm" for this cache is Gary Allan's 2007 country hit
"Watching Airplanes". You can watch the video here.
Ever since I first heard this song I thought about placing a
cache on this section of the trail due to its proximity to the
Springfield-Branson National Airport. This is a great spot to watch
airplanes, and there is even a bench nearby at N 37° 15.451 W 093°
22.698 where you can sit down while watching them. While I was here
hiding this cache, I saw three planes fly overhead and land. More
than once, while flying home from business trips, I have looked out
my window (I always get the window seat) and seen the trail "zoom"
underneath the plane before we land.
This should be a very easy find and you only have to step a few
feet off the trail to grab the cache. You are looking for a
matchstick container wrapped in black tape. Please be sure the lid
is screwed on tightly and try not to lose the rubber O-ring (that
helps keep moisture out).
Hope you see some planes fly overhead while you're here. Good
luck and have fun!
