The school in the forest
It was a manor till the middle of the twentieth century. After the arrival of Soviet Rissia, the manor became a school for 8 forms. A good football pitch and basketball field were built there. The building of the school was reconstructed and expanded. A fire happened in the school in the 90s, no lessons have taken place since then.
Interesting facts:
The school is the only place in the Keipunai village which has a phone line.
The well of the school is very deep. It‘s told that if you look up at the sky from the bottom of the well you will see stars even at midday.
It was scary for kids to go to school especially in winter mornings. It‘s understandable, because the school is in the middle of a forest.
Young electricians managed to shut down the electricity feed from the transformer in the village, thus causing the test to be postponed because of the dark.
