Geocache Description:

This cache will be archived prior to the Sept. 9th Open Trails Event.

This should be a fairly straight forward find. Please be wary of muggles.

Lorne Henderson (October 31, 1920—February 7, 2002) was a local politician who served in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1963 to 1985. He was born in Enniskillen Township and worked as a hog farmer before entering political life. He was a member of the Enniskillen council from 1946 to 1949, deputy reeve from 1950 to 1951, and reeve from 1952 to 1957. His career in municipal politics culminated when he was named Warden of Lambton County in 1957.
Henderson was notorious for both his poor grammar and his ability to win government patronage. When the Charlotte Eleanor Englehart Petrolia Hospital in his constituency received a $160,000 donation in 1975, Henderson delivered it with the line, "Me and the premier brung you this cheque". He also possessed a remarkable ability to remember people's names after having only met them once and would often set-up appointments on Saturday afternoons with constituents.

Please be respectful of campground sites and make use of designated trails. Conservation Authority Personnel remind us that there is a small entry fee into the Conservation Area. When the attendant isn't present, there is a self service drop box by the gate house. Also make note of the park hours as the entrance gates are locked each night. Please remember that off trail hiking is discouraged as it negatively impacts the environment. The area is well populated with animals, so please leave no food and re-hide the cache before leaving. Parking is available at: N42.52.688 W082.11.204. In the off season, (October to April) parking may not be available when the front gate is closed. If you do gain access to the parking lot, please park close to the Nature Education Centre so that Conservation Authority Staff don't accidently lock you onto the property. Please rehide carefully. There are a lot of exploring young muggles, especially during the camping season.
