A quick cache placed at the entrance
to private property.
Background
Every year our scout troop takes a trip up to Maine in June to stay
at a farm owned by the grandfather of one of the scouts in the
troop. This year we were sitting around the campfire talking about
the next day's planned activities. The subject of geocaching came
up and the farm owner's grandson started to explain it to his
grandfather. The grandfather stopped him and told him about when he
had gone and found First Mass (GC74) with some friends. He then
told us about a few others they found. Best as I can figure it was
back in 2001. Then the grandfather said lets hide one.
Next morning we looked around the property. After considering
several spots we settled on a spot close to the road so cachers
wouldn't need to worry about going onto private property. I fetched
two cache containers out of my car. (One for placement and one for
back up.) We took a bunch of reads over next two days.
The Cache
We chose a spot right along the road. There is a little grassy area
that you can pull over and park. The cache is within 30 feet of the
parking area so you do not have to wander far. If you see an older
gentleman in a small silver truck, say hi to Jack for me.
Good luck and good caching,
Loch Cache, Jack and troop 519
Congrats to Macfriends on the
