A tiny little magnetic button cache in a new (or newly-renovated) city park.
This cache is one of those tiny little magnetic buttons, so if you're not interested in this type of cache, please don't even try. The log is difficult to remove, so if you have some tweezers or a knife, that would speed things up. Difficulty is for the size of the container; terrain is wheelchair accessible on the concrete trails, though there are some hills. Of course you'll need a pen.
"Fort Worth has 228 public parks for a total of 10,743.75 acres of which 9,824.73 acres are developed for active use. Of the 190 active parks, 130 parks were classified as Neighborhood Parks with a total of 1,570.38 acres. The average size is 12.08 acres. The remaining acreage is held in reserve until population growth warrants development." --Fort Worth Parks website
Mallard Cove Park has its official entrance at 375 Shadow Grass Avenue, Fort Worth, but there's another entrance down Trinity Court off Randol Mill. On the map, it appears that the park goes all the way to the river, but there's a barbed wire fence between the park and the river, so best not to approach from the water.
The park has a new concrete trail with benches, a gazebo-like structure with picnic tables, lots of really old pecan trees and lots of mesquite trees.
Congratulations to mseeley and raylenemo for FTF!
