Geocache Description:

The Rainbow Bridge series is a fun little series, fantastic for pet lovers like myself, and a tribute to the pets i have loved and lost over the years.

This series of regular size caches, takes you over various little bridges and contains only pet related items suitable for swapping! Please replace with pet related items only, whether cat, dog, fish, bird, etc!

This series is inspired by my favourite poem - The Rainbow Bridge.

This cache, the third in the series is a tribute to Tazz, an old & skinny cat who turned up on my doorstep looking for help and turned into one of my most friendly and loved cats!

Inside the cache is some info about Tazz, and also some animal stickers and pet toys - Please help yourself to a toy when you find the cache and take it home for your pet!

Original contents were: Log Book, Tennis Ball, Cat Pencil, Dog rubber, Squeaky Dog ball and 2 x Cat Toys.

If you make a swap, please add photos of your pet using the item you have taken!!!

This area is a local nature reserve and kind permission for this cache has been granted by Colchester Borough Council.

Hope you enjoy the series and please think of Tazz as you cross the Bridge!!

The Rainbow Bridge

By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,
Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.
Where the friends of man and woman do run,
When their time on earth is over and done.

For here, between this world and the next,
Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.
On this golden land, they wait and they play,
Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.

No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,
For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.
Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,
Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.

They romp through the grass, without even a care,
Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.
All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,
Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.

For just at that instant, their eyes have met;
Together again, both person and pet.
So they run to each other, these friends from long past,
The time of their parting is over at last.

The sadness they felt while they were apart,
Has turned into joy once more in each heart.
They embrace with a love that will last forever,
And then, side-by-side, they cross over...together.

Free parking is available on Barbel Road. Please take care when replacing! Sorry if co-ords are a little out, but tree cover causing problems!
