Geocache Description:

Small Lock-N-Lock style container. BYOP.

This is a challenge cache! There is a container hidden at the given coordinates, but you must meet the requirement before posting your find. This challenge is to find the 10 best caches in North Carolina, as voted by other cachers!

How do you find out what the top ten are? Favorite points. With the introduction of favorite points, premium members can now let everyone know which hides they think are the best.

To get a listing of the current top ten, follow these steps:
1. From the Geocaching website, go to Play, then click Hide & Seek a Cache
2. Search by State/Province "North Carolina" then select "GO"
3. Now click on the Blue Ribbon Favorite Filter. ()

This will give you a sorted list of the caches with the most favorite points. All you have to do is take the top ten on the list, and go find them! Easy right? But there are a few rules!

When you decide to take on this challenge, you need to post a note on this cache page, stating you're "accepting" the challenge. In this note you need to make a list of the top ten at the time of posting. These will be the ten you have to find to get credit for a find. Even if they change while you're working on your list, you still just need to find those 10.

Here is a list of some questions to help clear the rules up a bit.

1. Do previous finds count? - Yes
2. What if the Top 10 in North Carolina change before I finish finding them? - You only need to find the Top 10 that you opted in for as posted in your note.
3. If the Top 10 changed and I like that list better can I start all over? - Sure, just delete your first note listing, post a new "accepted" list and continue with your Top 10 challenge.
4. What if there is a tie for say 8th place? - Just count ten favorites down from the #1. That's your qualifying Top 10.
5. What if there is a tie for 10th place? - Pick the one you want.
6. Can I substitute favorites from other states? - No this challenge is for caches in the state of North Carolina only.
7. Is there a time limit? - No, you can take as many days, weeks, months or years as you want to finish.
8. If the North Carolina Top Ten Challenge cache ever makes it to the Top 10 favorites in North Carolina will it count? - No, skip it and go find the next one.
9. I am the cache owner of a Top 10 listed cache can I count it as a qualifier? - No, just skip that cache, and use the next in line.
10. I adopted a cache that is in the Top 10, can I count it? - Same as #9, just skip it, and use the next in line.
11. What if one of the caches on my "accepted" list gets archived before I find the final? - Two answers for that one. If you already found the archived cache you opted in for then it still counts. If you had not found the archived cache yet then you need to make an adjustment to your list.
12. What if a cache on the list is disabled? Same answer as if it were archived, if you've already found it, you can count it. If you have not found it, skip to the next.

This challenge should take you to some of the most beautiful and interesting places in NC. The final is at a popular tourist location in Southeast NC. Difficulty is based on the amount of travel that is going to be necessary, regardless of which caches remain in the top ten. Also to account for the fact that a very difficult cache might end up in the top ten. The final hide is D/T of 1.5/1.5. The area all around the final is a high muggle area in the summer, so please make sure to practice stealth, and re-hide the container just as you found it. Good luck! And hope you enjoy!
