Geocache Description:

To the locals, Thornton and Cleveleys are distinct settlements - but on the map they are one hyphenated entity! This is a nice little puzzle that takes you from one to the other to hunt down a small well-hidden cache. Distance from start to finish is just over half a mile.

Park up just north of the listed co-ordinates at the Marsh Mill car park. The co-ordinates are for the war memorial in Thornton. The final cache is 1000 yards away at N 53 AB.CDE W 003 0F.GHI. Answer the following questions at the memorial to crack the final location.
On the ICI Limited memorial (not the main statue) where on the list does the soldier called Bullen appear? That number is A.
How many soldiers on the main 1914-18 memorial are called Blackburn? That number is B.
How many soldiers on that main memorial are called Taylor? Add one to that number and you have C.
The last name on the memorial is that of soldier Yardley. How many letters in his Christian name? That number is D.
How many open stone books surround the main memorial? Add four to that number and you have E.
How many soldiers' statues are on top of the main plinth? That number is F.
The First World War started in 191*. The missing digit is G.
Pop and look at the road signs nearby. If you want to head to Preston, you'll need to take the A5*5. The missing digit is H.
Finally, if you want to head into Blackpool, you'd need to take the B52*8. That missing digit is I.
Now you have the co-ordinates where you'll find the final cache. The clue should really help. Welcome to Cleveleys! The cache is a small test tube - it does contain a pencil - but you may need tweezers. Cancel that - you will need tweezers!
