At the entrance to the famous Lipizzaners!
I used to work at the Restaurant next
door to the Lipizzaners from 1986 to about 1991. I made Pavlova for
the dessert table, as it was a buffet for Sunday afternoon
lunch.
Gary Bailey used to come round often with his wife, and Johnny
Clegg was there at least four times during the time I worked there.
I still remember Jesse Clegg running around with a nappy on, with
his long, curly dark locks of hair. I cannot believe he is such a
man now, such a success. There were a number of other celebrities
that came to the restaurant. I feel very privileged now to have had
the opportunity of meeting them and even serving them. They used to
enjoy coming out to the country for a hearty meal. Those were the
good old days.
Interestingly, Rolf has attended a Lipizzaner show and even
though I lived just down the road for 26 years, and worked next
door, I have never had the opportunity of attending one of their
shows!
I think I need to add it to my bucket list!
