A Rock on an Old Trail Traditional Cache
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
This cache is located in the Campgaw Mountain County Reservation.
The park is only open during daylight hours. DO NOT APPROACH VIA
NEARBY PRIVATE PROPERTY.
The cache is a medium-sized round lock and lock just off an old,
poorly marked Orange trail. The trail appears to take you to
Carmel Retreat property, which I believe to be private. The
trail is overgrown and poorly marked in areas.
I decided to explore the Orange trail today and liked this area,
because I saw a wild turkey, cedar trees, and shagbark hickory
trees all close to the rock where this cache is hidden.
WARNING:
Wildlife: These parks are home to all sorts of
wildlife. I have run across black bear, snakes, deer, lots of TICKS
here (and more).
General: You are responsible for your own safety. Be
observant & cautious of all hazards at all times. Trails,
rocks, etc can be quite slippery when wet or leaf covered, carry a
trail map & cell phone, know how to use your gps, etc.
