This is a seasonal cache May-Oct depending on spring and winter weather conditions sometimes you might go up there through November you will know. When my family first moved to Wyoming back in 1973 they had nothing and we lived in the now "RIM" campground.Those were tough times except an excellent way to become acclimated to "Wyoming". My brother and I have many stories about our adventures on Muddy Mountain and between Casper Mountain - The Deer Creek Range.Two teenagers with time and energy what adventures we had. I will never forget the Spanish sheepherder who made the homemade tortilla's and green chili, he taught us about sheep,mutton,dogs and coyote's.He loved his job.He showed us places to get clean spring water and a cabin in case of really bad weather.One time he pulled out a coffee can and asked me to teach him "English" the names of the states were on that can!I did and "Florida" was said with his accent like this "Flordeda" I cannot remember his name right now but he was the first person I got to know in "Wyoming" on Muddy Mountain.We just love it up there.Lot's of hiking and the views are to die for.The terrain varies depending on where you are at. Around the campgrounds they are accessible by all especially with all the new improvements which are nice.Bathrooms,firepits, levelspots with gravel.This area where the cache is has been improved too and there are also plenty of garbage cans everywhere.There are wild animals always in these areas so please dont leave garbage bags overflowing when Casper isnt so far, nice campground but animals live there too! We are very blessed to have this area so close to town. Please take care of it so everyone can always have fun camping,hiking,gliding,hunting,birdwatching what ever adventure you choose.Even Geocaching! I wish we would've has a GPS'R back then even a compass would have been Great!Please keep this "Camping" theme.
