Tämän kätkön tarkoituksena on valaista kuinka vaihtelevaa on Oulun Hiukkavaaran kaupunginosan maasto. Lähietäisyydellä kätköpaikasta on rämettä, kuusi- ja kangasmetsää ja hiekkaisia paikkoja. Vieressä on myös vanha hiekanottopaikka, jonka aavemaisuus suorastaan vaati paikalle laitettavan kätköä. Tämä kaikki on mahdollista nähdä kätköpurkilta.
Hiekkakuopalla harrastetaan usein myös AirSoftia ja Paintballia, mistä saattaa nähdä merkkejä myös kätkön lähettyvillä. Ympäröivät maastot ovat myös mitä mainioimpia koirienulkoiluttamiseen. Myös koiria ulkoiluttajineen saattaa liikkua likellä aina jästiksi asti.
Kuten multikätkö Hiukkavaaran miehet kätkö osoitti, oli tämä paikka tekijöille jo ennestään tuttu ja sen muiston ja hurtin huumorin johdattelemana kehitimme tämän kätkön teemalla Turha reissu, joita tuli alueelle tehtyä keltaisen ja pyöreän betonisen maahan kätkettävän esineen kanssa. Kaivamista ei kuitenkaan tarvitse harrastaa tämän kätkön etsiskelyn aikana.
Kätkön loggaamiseen tarvitset apuvälinettä eikä kaverinkaan tuki ja turva ole hullumpi ajatus vaikka apuväline olisikin matkassa. Apuvälineen laatu selviää parhaiten käymällä katsomassa paikkaa. Logatessa kannattaa noudattaa erityistä varovaisuutta. Kummelin sanoin: "Älkää ny itteenne teloko".
Kätkölle voi yrittää myös autolla, mutta kätkön laittajat irtisanoutuvat kaikesta öljypohja yms. maakosketuksen aiheuttamista vaurioista. Eli parkkipaikan koordinaatteja kannattaa hyödyntää ellei geokulkuneuvossasi ole riittävää maavaraa.
The purpose of this cache is to make visitors aware of the variety of undergrowth in the Hiukkavaara area. Different sorts of trees, bogs and sandy places lie very near the cache. And when one finds the cache they can marvel all of it from it.
The area is popular with AirSoft enthusiasts and you can see some signs of it on the area near the cache. The area is also very popular area to walk ones dogs and train them there. They might also provide some geomuggles so be aware.
As our previous cache showed we are aware of the area and its different locations when we were "schooled in warfare" here. The same memory and rugged humour we experienced made us able to device this cache with a there of "Was it Worth it?" aka "Turha reissu". It reminds us the feeling of moving here with two to four heavy, yellow and round objects made from concrete and were dug to the ground. However, one does not need to dig to find this cache.
To log this cache you will need some sort of aid or equipment to get to the cache. Some friends might be good for help and safety too. What sort of aid or equipment might be can be the most useful can be seen when one is making the cache familiar to oneself. You should remember a line from the Hill Street Blues: "Remember be careful out there."
You can try to get to the cache by car but make sure your car's oil sump is protected or you have enough of ground clearance on your vehicle. You should use the parking place if your geovehicle is not equipped properly.
