War is hell but this park is sweet.
It is a dog friendly park in an East Vancouver neighborhood known as the "War Zone" because it was developed for veterans returning from the Second World War.
The streets in the neighborhood are named after signigicant WW 2 battles.
Vimy, Dieppe, Matapan and Normandy to name a few.
The park itself is named after campaign known as the Falaise Pocket, a turning point in the battle of Normandy.
I hope you and your dog enjoy this hidden gem and I hope you take a moment to remember and appreciate the sacrifices made by those who serve our country in time of war, any war.
