Geocache Description:

This was placed as part of the Geocachers in Space event. At 1/10 of a Mile equals 35 million in Space, Mars is a short 3/10 of a mile from our sun, the Taylor Library.

While this is located close to a road, there is no parking close by. There are parking lots at the bottom and at the top of the hill, I suggest starting at the bottom.

Mars has an average distance of 134 million miles. Dubbed "The Red Planet", it's heavy iron oxide content is obvious. NASA has sent many a spacecraft there to study it. As of yet, they have not found any little green men. The Mars Climate Orbiter crashed on September 23, 1999. Human error led to the crash when it was discovered that NASA was using Newtons to calculate thrust and the ground crew was using Pound-Force (metric vs imperial measurements). Have fun recreating this crash while visiting mars
