For Daddys and Daughters
A Legacy Cache sponsored by GeoDreamCacher
The relationship between a Daddy and Daughter is a very special
one, especially if she is his geocaching buddy too. I have been
caching with my daughter, Squirrel Nutcacher, for the past four
years. This year she has really caught the "bug" and has cached for
over one hundred days consecutively in response to a challenge from
her Dad. Her streak isn't over yet. Caching aside for the moment, I
never cease to be amazed at her talents and abilities. She is
becoming more intelligent and independent daily and, yet, she still
finds her Dad to be a neat character who makes her laugh and
fascinates her with the singularly useless bits of information that
he has collected over many decades. It fills me with joy to see how
much she has matured over the past 13 years and how much potential
there is within her for the future. I’m sure she will
surpass me in a few years but I know that, even as she grows older,
she will still need the things that only a Daddy can offer to help
his Daughter become the strong, independent and intelligent woman
that she will be. One of those things is how to focus when you look
for a cache and not be distracted by all the wonderful things
around you!! Well, that’s only ever partially successful.
Squirrel Nutcacher and I hope you enjoy this cache and all your
Daddy-Daughter times together. Happy caching!!

Event.
The Legacy Trail
The Legacy Trail is a collection of geocaches that circles its
way over 100 miles on country roads traversing some of the most
scenic and spectacular landscape in this part of the Canadian
Badlands. A large number of caches in a variety of types, sizes and
difficulty are placed on the Trail. Every town, village and hamlet
in the Canadian Badlands has its own cache. Some caches were named
after local historic events and people, as well as celebrities who
grew up in this area. Some caches were sponsored by geocachers who
attended the Best of the Bad Mega Event. The Legacy Trail was
produced by the Canadian Badlands Geocaching Association for the
Best of the Bad Mega Event.
The Canadian Badlands
The Canadian Badlands in Alberta are like no other place on
earth, home to the world's most extensive dinosaur bonebeds,
badlands and hoodoos, and a world-class museum that shelters a 75
million-year-old legacy. The region is rich in culturally and
historically significant sites that tell the story of the First
Nations people and early settlers, and of a complex and diverse
modern society that is still deeply rooted in the spirit of the
frontier.
