Ayr Fire Station is the only station in North Dumfries Township. It averages 250 emergency calls a year and serves a population of 20,000 people. They have approximately 25 dedicated volunteer firefighters on the department.
The fire department is responsible for a wide range of activities. These include firefighting and all categories of rescue matters along with the handling and disposing of hazardous materials. Performing activities such as the removal of trapped victims from vehicles or building may be required. The firefighters are also trained in advanced first aid and would assist in the treatment and evacuation of individuals when required. Our fire personnel train on a continuous basis to ensure their ability to respond to emergencies with the township and handle them in a fast and efficient manner.
