Up there?........Yes It Is.
In the recreation sand dunes area just off the E side of Hwy 243. About 1.25 miles S of Schawana. Parking coords are noted below.
Then it's a steep little hike up over the sand dunes.
And then another steeper scramble up through..........up there?........Yes It Is....up there.
Secondary coordinates for the bottom of the basalt chute are also noted below.
Depending on how fast a cacher moves it will take about 10-15 minutes to get to the cache. Although not far from the road this cache is a challenging uphill hike and scramble/climb.
Going up into the basalt chute the cache is on the RIGHT side of the chute near the top under a couple of rocks next to a dried up sage bush.
Coords can be kind of jumpy between the rock walls. Use of the hint should make the cache findable. Cache is a plastic decon container.
just slightly bigger than a standard band-aid box.
If you're up to the challenge after finding the cache continue the climb up out of the chute for a g-r-e-a-t view of the river, orchards and mountains across the river.
Be careful. Don't attempt going UP an incline that you wont be comfortable coming back DOWN.

Probably not a good cache for the youngsters. Didn't see any but possible unfriendly snake habitat.
