Geocache Description:

This stretch of the scenic North Elkhorn creek is one of my favorite for flatwater kayaking.
Last year I spotted a river otter cavorting in the water.
You need a boat to reach the cache since it is surrounded by private property.

The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife released 355 otters from 1991-1994 on select watersheds including the Kentucky River. They have multiplied to the point where hunting and trapping is permitted. Cache is a nalgene bottle in an obvious location. If a boat was not needed, the terrain would be a 2 because of the slippery slope. GZ is about a 1.5 miles up the creek from the US 460 boat ramp. It is flat water and is easy to paddle. Canoe Kentucky will rent canoes and kayaks at that location on request.
