Geocache Description:

This is NOT a NEW CACHE. It was placed by tattboy1 in July 2011. He has kindly allowed me to adopt it so that I may incorporate it into my E2W series of caches. These are placed between this station and Everton Station. There are many more Rail Trail caches under different headings - E2B, M2M and MMRT so if you are a rider it will be worth your while checking them too.

These are essentially caches placed for cyclists using the Trail. Car drivers may need to take a pleasant stroll to reach some of them.

The section from Everton to Wangaratta can be quite tedious. There are long straight stretches without much tree cover so what better way to break it up than to stop for a few caches along the way.

Bowser opened to traffic as Beechworth Junction on 7 July 1875. It was renamed Bowser in 1922 after John Bowser, a local politician and Premier of Victoria. The line came from Wangaratta and at Bowser became a 3 way junction. One line went to Peechelba East via Boorhaman, one to Wodonga and the other to Everton, where in turn the line branched, either to Beechworth or Bright.
