Geocache Description:

Cache is a bison tube placed along the fence line of Buffalo Prairie Cemetery in Mercer County.

I placed another 11 Illinois Spirit caches that are near old cemeteries in northwest Mercer County. The caches and hides are nothing special, just placed to bring you out to some great old cemeteries you might not know are there. The difficulty for many will be in figuring out how to get to the cemetery.

Buffalo Prairie was established in 1868. There is a section of the cemetery around the sign in which prairie grass has been allowed to grow - really gives you the feel of what the land was covered with when this cemetery was placed here.

Please be respectful while visiting the cemetery and no caching after dark. Please bring your own pen - for some, you may want to bring a log extractor.

Great country roads - some blacktop and some gravel. Rarely any muggles and no poison ivy!!
Enjoy!
