Bob's Tunnel, is a small geocache located in Ramsbottom.
I have walked in this area for years, and my dog (Winston) loves to have a swim in the water here. You may see us about, he is the mad spaniel jumping off the wall into the water.
However, it was only when I stopped for a while and Bob crept into this tunnel that I noticed it. He is a bit of a wimp, but he went straight into here. I'm glad that he was on the lead as he would have just kept on going. Who know what lies at the end - and where does it end?
There is plenty of wildlife around and about. You may even see a heron.
When I was taking the GPS readings they were quite erratic for the actual cache location. So the co-odinates take you onto the dam wall. From here you can easily see the cache site.
Please be very careful near to the water. It shelves down quickly and is very deep. Take care with children.
DO NOT DO A BOB.THERE IS NO NEED TO ENTER THE TUNNEL.
You will have to use stealth. It is a popular spot, and in the winter there is no tree cover to partially hide your searching.
