Australian's have always ruled at Equestrian sports, particularly 'Eventing'. In the Wandin area we have some of the best Riders and Facilities in the country.

Eventing is divided into 3 Phases. The first phase is Dressage. Dressage is a test, in a 60m X 20m arena. Riders perform the same test and are judged for their accuracy and style. The Cross Country Phase should be ridden second, but with lots of competitors and limited time, some of the lower levels will do the Cross Country as Phase 3. The Cross Country Course is a long, timed, jumping course on differing surfaces, using natural looking fixed jumps (meaning the jumps are solid and do not drop when knocked). It is a test of endurance and bravery for horse and rider. The faults for refusing a jump are costly, 20 (bad) points per incident. Combinations can be eliminated for 3 refusals at the one fence. Time faults are also given if the course is finished too slowly. Going 'clear' is crucial for winning.
This cache is positioned near Wandin's own National standard cross Country Course. The jumps are FIERCE! Treat yourself to a day of competition here and be truly impressed with the bravery and skill of horses and riders. We have some magical memories of Wandin Cross Country... created on our wonderful equine friends, who kept us safe and honest!
The cache has pen, log, NEW spider man laser light, NEW Australian key ring, NEW pedometer and a kangaroo pathtag for the first to find.
