Geocache Description:

One of my all-time favorite movies is The Great Escape which was released in 1963. It has an ensemble of incredible actors including Steve McQueen, Donald Pleasence, James Coburn, James Garner, and Charles Bronson. Also I am a World War II junkie and the movie is based on a true story during the war.

First a couple of guidelines I used in the construction of this multi...
1. If you are wanting to get numbers only, I recommend you put this one on your ignore list. If you want a challenging hide where you might learn some new techniques, then this one is for you...

2. I recognize that anyone can make a "difficult" hide - just chuck a nano down a well and you got that. I took the approach of making each stage a bit "special" and a little evil.

3. Driving between the different stages will be required - they are not within walking distance of each other.

4. While the first three stages can be done solo, I do NOT recommend that for the finale which is the fourth stage. If you don't have a partner - or would prefer to work alone - please let me know and I will be glad to accompany you as a "silent observer". We need to be smart and not take stupid chances - ok?

5. Please do not share information on the solutions for the stages with others - that'll just ruin the "A-HA" moment and take away the feeling of accomplishment you should feel at the end.

6. Don't bother asking for hints unless you've at least logged a DNF. Even then, the hints might be a bit stingy.

7. NOTHING needs to be disassembled or really tampered with at any of the four stages. In fact no special tools are really required, but a yellow vest might be handy since these are urban stages.

8. There will be a FTF prize awarded at the next INKY event after the find.

9. Have fun! This IS a game after all! So - let's get started!

And now for the cache....

Stage 1: The posted coords take you where you can see the namesake of this cache and is a very good place to start on your journey. There you will find the necessary information to get the coordinates for the second stage. Checksum for the west coords is 31.

Stage 2: At the coords for stage 2, you might see some of the Escapees flying to the border. Here you will find the information to get to Stage 3.

Stage 3: At stage 3, you'll find a bunker used by the Germans to protect the border at the frontier to neutral Switzerland. Here you'll find the coords to the Final Stage!

Stage 4: Congratulations! You've made it this far, now you just have to find that ever-elusive bison tube! Please be "gentle" with the container at the final so that it can stay intact in its hiding spot.

Please no hints to others or in your log!!!
