Towards Wentwood Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

juxtapoz: A lot of building work will soon be happening in the village making access to the cache dangerous. I would hate any cachers to be injured while searching here.

Geocache Description:

Llanvair Discoed means literally "Mary`s church under the wood" (Wentwood)
The village has a small ruined 13c. castle and below it in a field is a standing stone; The John of Gaunt Stone.
Legend tells us John, a local gentle giant challenged the devil to a throwing match. If John won, the devil would leave the residents alone.
From the top of nearby Grey hill, see virtual cache GCJFMH, the contest began.John`s stone finished where we find it today and, unfortunately, the devil`s stone landed much further away in the River Severn and is known today as Denny Island.
The cache is a camoflaged tube containing only a log and pencil.
Careful and considerate road parking is available nearby.
I have classed the cache as child friendly at GZ however a (fairly quiet) road is nearby so please remain alert!
There is a very small risk of being overlooked, there fore some stealth may be needed.
The cache is NOT in the nearby stone wall.
Please extract and replace the cache carefully.

Congratulations bakersix, FTF
(Terrain uprated to 1.5 after the much appreciated advice from mathsteacher).
