There has been a bit of a change to the last hint (you'd think there was more important things to do rather than renumber street lamps...) so there is a new formula for this one.
Cache is in a camo bag and is big enough for geocoins and small trackables. Plenty of swag when first left.
Clue 1 - Church yard - in the corner of the grave yard (can be seen if you stand next to the post box outside the church yard) you can see a grave marked Edward Greene - what year was he born? 186A?
Whilst here why not have a go at By The Church (GCWH4A)?
Clue 2 - Village Green - on the green there is a water fountain (aparantly being piped from the grounds of Harston House). There are two sets of initials on the fountain, being EG (Edward again) and his father (I think) Graham Greene (cousin of the author). In which year did Edward build the fountain to bring clean running water to the village folk? 19B1?
Whilst here why not have a go at Up The Greene (GC3VVCA) (if you fancy a climb)?
Clue 3 - War Memorial - In which year was the memorial errected? 192C?
Whilst here why not have a go at By the War Memorial (GCYVG4)?
Clue 4 - School - In which year was the school opened? 18D7?
Clue 5 - Village Hall (which once hosted Any Questions on the radio) - There are a number of years mentioned on a plaque underneath the picture on the building. What is the second year? 197E?
Clue 6 - Recreation Ground - what is the number on the lampost just outside the recreation park? L?VHG. To work out the value for F use the following formula and the value for D you collected in Clue 4. F=?-D
Now I suggest that you go into the park, perhaps wonder into the grass meadow or orchard, sit down on a bench and do some arithmetic. N52 08.B(A+C+E)F E00 05.(D-A+F)(D+F)(B+C+F)
Co-ords should be fairly accurate but difficult with tree cover.
