Broeksittard (Limburgs: Broukzittert) is een kerkdorp met ongeveer 1700 inwoners in de Nederlandse provincie Limburg, gelegen ten oosten van de stad Sittard, waarmee het anno 2006 volledig is aaneengegroeid. Het dorp ligt tegen de Duitse grens.
Broeksittard wordt voor het eerst officieel vermeld als Bruchsitert (moeras-Sittard) in een document uit het jaar 1144. Het dorp is ontstaan in de vroege middeleeuwen bij een gebied dat zeer geschikt was om vee te houden. Bestuurlijk valt de plaats van oudsher onder Sittard. Met Sittard maakte het deel uit van het Gulikse gebied. Broeksittard is van 1817 tot 1942 een zelfstandige gemeente geweest. Op 30 september 1942 werd de gemeente Broeksittard (met toen 992 inwoners) door de Duitse bezetter opgeheven en weer volledig bij Sittard gevoegd.
Na de Tweede Wereldoorlog groeide Sittard steeds meer in oostelijke richting en maakte het tot dan toe agrarische gebied plaats voor woonwijken. Broeksittard wordt nu begrensd door de naoorlogse wijken Stadbroek en Vrangendael en door de recentere wijken Europapark en Kempehof. Hoewel het dorp nog steeds eigen plaatsnaamborden heeft wordt Broeksittard zelf formeel ook gezien als een woonwijk van Sittard. Het dorpse karakter van Broeksittard is nochtans goed in stand gehouden, met name in het oudste deel.

Cache beschrijving
De cache bevat een pen en is groot genoeg om naast allerlei goodies ook travelbugs te bevatten. Zorg ervoor dat de deksel er weer goed recht opkomt om water in de cache te voorkomen.

Het betreft hier een verbindingspaadje waar nogal veel honden worden uitgelaten. Pas op hondendrollen!
Broeksittard (Limburgish: Broukzittert) is a parish with about 1700 inhabitants in the Dutch province of Limburg, located east of the city of Sittard,with which it completely has fused in 2006. The village lies near the German border.
Broeksittard is officially listed for the first time as Bruchsitert (Sittard-swamp) in a document dating from 1144. The village was established in the early Middle Ages in an area very suitable for keeping livestock. With Sittard Broeksittard was part of the Gulick area. From 1817 to 1942 Broeksittard was a separate municipality. On September 30, 1942, the municipality Broeksittard (which numbered 992 inhabitants) was combined with Sittard by the German occupiers.
After the Second World War Sittard grew increasingly to the east and converted rural areas to residential areas. Broeksittard is surrounded by the postwar neighborhoods Stadbroek and Vrangendael and the more recent quarters Europapark and Kempehof. Although the village still has its place-name signs it is formally seen as a residential area of Sittard. The village character of Broeksittard is however well maintained, especially in the oldest part.

Cache description
The cache contains a pen and is big enough for all kinds of goodies and/or travel bugs. Make sure to replace the lid straight to prevent water to enter the cache.
Terrain description
The cache is on a small path where quite a lot of dogs are let out. Beware of dog turds!
