Geocache Description:

The Texas Spirit Quest
is a series of Caches placed by many individuals, near cemeteries and historic sites in hopes of paying respect to the many pioneer ancestors that have ‘walked’ before us.

There are hundreds of cemeteries in the rural communities across Texas. This series will introduce you to many of them. The cache pages will provide a virtual history tour of the cemeteries, tombstones and local lore.

Not entirely sure of the name of this site. The geo-map shows that there is a San Juan Number 2 Cemetery here (as distinct from the plain ol' unnumbered San Juan Cemetery in nearby Reedville), but I believe that is the graveyard a bit to the north of this particular location. This one features a sign from the THC on the life of Rev. John McCullough and a number of markers from the 19th Century and later. There may be over 250 interments here, although not all the headstones remain in good condition.

There is no need to wander the grounds proper--just head over to the dead tree that would look spooky on a cloudy night. And as always--any refinements to the listed coordinates are welcomed.
