Last year, when my sister and her husband gave birth to my little nephew, I kidded them about their choice of names. They'd given him "Weston" as his first name and "Grant" as his middle name. Both are lovely names, and they sound great together. But I had to tease her a little about the fact that when I drive back to visit the subdivision in which we grew up I have to go "west on Grant".
This cache is placed in my old stomping grounds not far from where I went to elementary school and where I had my first (and second) real jobs. Specifically, it's near the intersection where I often make a "west on Grant".
First to find prize is an "It's a Boy!" charm and a penny with a cutout in the shape of footprints.
Happy belated first birthday to my favorite nephew!
**** 05/18/13 - It's hard to believe, but Weston is now THREE. His older sister, my niece, turned five last month - she has a cache that predates this one! See GCWBEE - Mother's Day - Baby Dee.
**** 04/20/21 - the real “West on Grant” turned 10 last year just as the pandemic hit. Last month marked the 11th anniversary of his birth and hopefully the beginning of the end of isolation/distancing. We’ve got a lot of missed celebrating to do!
Weston - we can go hunting for this together in a few weeks, OR you can look for it with your parents and sister. Either way, when you prove to me that you’ve found it I’ll hook you up with some GeoCa$h!
