Geocache Description:

Mountain-bike or hike to this cache for the most rewarding experience! You can also reach it by 4WD but you better have really good clearance! Of course an ATV or motorcycle will also get you there. If you have a fear of heights, you probably won't enjoy this cache. But for everyone else, the reward is a truly magnificent view.

Cache Refreshed on 6/30/25!
It’s been around 9 years since I last visited this cache. I left Moab and moved to New Zealand but am back in the States now. Sadly, the cache had moved from the spot I chose 14 years ago. I spent a half hour looking for it, and finally decided to create a new cache and put it in the original location. Because the old one was found recently, June 2025, it’s still around somewhere. If you find it—it’s a weathered orange “OttoBox”—please move the contents to the new cache—a tupperware-like container with a snap-on lid. And, if you wouldn’t mind, I’d love to see a picture of it and get the GPS coordinates to see how far it had strayed from its original location!

Description
The "Top of the World" is a viewpoint on Waring Mesa. It has a spectacular view of Fisher Valley, Onion Creek, and the La Sal Mountains. To get to it from Moab, go North on 191 for 2-3 miles until you come to 128. Turn right and go West on 128 for about 30 miles. Look for the Dewey Bridge. The turn-off—Entrada Bluffs Road—is just before the bridge to the right. If you're 4 wheeling it or on a motorized vehicle then the trail starts here. If you're mountain-biking you might want to drive about halfway up the 10 mile trail to a parking lot.

For more specific information about mountain-biking the trail, and specific advice about where to park, I suggest checking out one of the many guidebooks you can find in any of the local bike shops or bookstores in Moab. I used Rider Mel's Mountain Bike Guide to Moab. While the trail itself isn't as pretty as a lot of the other trails around Moab, the payoff is at the end of the trail. I'd been once before on a motorcycle years before but had forgotten how breathtaking the view was. On this most recent trip, I really took my time and lingered for a couple of hours at the top. This would be a great place for a picnic!

This is my very first cache so please make sure to fill in the log so I can read your comments! You can also reach me directly, if you are so moved, by emailing me at dahveed7@gmail.com. Enjoy!
