Geocache Description:

Congrats to Team Frog Dogs - FTF!

Sam's Creek is a year round creek on your way into the Rock Creek Wilderness. This area is active with elk hunting in late August through November. There are also many primitive campsites available for free. Like the one next to this cache, just pull up and pitch a tent or unhitch your trailer. This area has an abundance of wildlife. Besides rabbits, there are also bear, elk, deer and the occasional cougar. If you are willing to bushwhack on the overgrown trail, going upstream from Sam's Creek on the north side, you will come to an old rusted gate on what used to be a logging road about 50 yards in. If you follow this trail further, you will come into an area where the elk come down for water and rake the trees during the rut. If you head downstream from this spot, it tends to gravitate more towards bear habitat as the creek drops in altitude. This cache is meant to be somewhat easy, but it is not your typical guardrail cache. As a matter of fact, it's not in the guardrail at all. BE SURE TO BRING YOUR OWN PEN/CIL.
