Here is one of the most beautiful views of village Topolje and the entire lower part of Selca Valley.
Topolje so bile poseljene v enem od valov kolonizacije od 12. do 14. stoletja, ko je bila Selška dolina skupaj s Škofjo Loko (od leta 973) last fresinškega škofa.
Dolga stoletja oranja so pustila sledove v TERASAH, ki se razprostirajo tu spodaj. Vsaka terasa pomeni enega lastnika, vmes pa je strma meja. Vsak lastnik je imel v svojem pasu tudi svojo hišo, hlev in vec kozolcev (eden od njih je vecji). Šest kmetij je bilo v Topoljah že pred pol tisocletja in tako je še sedaj - pridružilo pa se jim je nekaj hiš, ki jim pripada manj travnikov in gozda.
S tega mesta je tudi zanimiv razgled na Škofjeloško hribovje (Lubnik, Stari vrh, Mladi vrh, Miklavž, Koprivnik, Blegoš, Porezen), levo pa je pred nosom MOHOR, do katerega je uro hoda.
Z bližnjega hriba (300m proti JZ) se vidijo tudi Ratitovec, Triglav, Stol in Kum.
The village Topolje was settled in one of the waves of colonization from the 12th to 14th century. Selca Valley with Škofja Loka was owned by Freising bishop (from 973).
Many centuries of hard farmers work have left traces of plowing into terraces that stretch down here. Each terrace represents one of the owner with the steep borders inbetween. Each owner had in his band also his own house, barn and several hayracks (one of them is greater). Six farms in Topolje was already half a millennium ago, and so it is still now - joined by a few houses that have less meadow and forest.
Here is also an interesting view of the hills of "Škofjeloško hribovje" (Lubnik, Stari vrh, Mladi vrh, Miklavž, Koprivnik, Blegoš, Porezen). You can see on the left (East) the hill Mohor - an hour's walk.
From the nearby hill (300m towards SW) is also seen Ratitovec, Triglav, Stol and Kum.
