I have placed this cache for two reasons. 1)It is the 10th anniversary of my Grandads death so it is placed in his memory. 2)I have reached 200 caches!! My Grandad has a tree planted in the Arboretum so thought it a fitting place to put his cache. It is off the paved paths but we visit it with my grandma in a wheelchair and manage ok.
The National Memorial Arboretum is located between Lichfield and Burton on Trent, just off the A38 on the A513 to Tamworth.
The Arboretum provides a living and lasting focus for remembrance essentially for those who have lost their lives or suffered in the service of their country. The Arboretum site covers over 150 acres and the location benefits from a unique wildlife habitat, bordered by the River Tame. The Arboretum is an area of peace and reflection and also a newly emerging Wildlife Centre and for these reasons pet dogs are not allowed around the site (Guide dogs are welcome).
The Arboretum is open 10am to 5pm (or dusk if earlier) every day except Christmas Day, New Year’s Day and Boxing Day.

There is a £6 voluntary charge for parking. Arriva buses from Lichfield, Burton and Birmingham now stop at the site. The visitor centre contains a shop and a restaurant.

These co-ordinates do not take you to the cache. Instead they take you to a section of the arboretum, where you must find a tree dedicated to John Trotman, my Grandad.
If the years he served in the Fleet Air Arm read ABCD - EFGH then the co-ordinates for the cache are: N 52 43.CC(H-4) W 001 43.BDA
You will need to drive to the cache, it is not far from the entrance, and an easy cache and dash with a place to park right next to it.
