I made a night cache for my Numbers final and the few kids that went really enjoyed it so I thought this cache was a no brainer to do.
Park at the English Point Recreation area.
It was hard to come up with a nice flat area with good parking and little brush. The kid and I were lucky to fit one more cache in at English Point area. We tried to clear the dead wood off the routes but there is low brush so make sure the kids have long pants. I am sure over time some nice paths will be developed which may help scratches.
We put two thumb tack size reflectors on trees about 8-10' off the ground. Over time one reflector may come off so that will still leave one left. Make sure you have two flashlights, one to find the reflectors on the trees and one to light up the ground. The bigger the flashlight wattage the further away you can see the markers. Of course, complete darkness will help too. Right now July 9th 9:45 pm would be the earliest.
This is heavy tree area and coords may be spotty. Start at N 47 47.262 & W 116 42.691 and shine your lights on the trees (you may have to move around), when you see the reflectors walk to that tree and shine until you find the next reflectors and repeat the process until you find the gold at the end. For you pirates down south that do not know your colors--X marks the spot.
Adults--if you see possible limbs and other hindrances please throw them aside. This will help others that will follow you. Remember this is for fun so let the kids stay up a little later and go after this cache. In fact invite other kids to go with you. I took 3 from my neighborhood to be my alpha testers and they had a blast.
