Choo Choo! Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Wizard of Ooze: Hello,
I’m a volunteer reviewer for geocaching.com. In a routine check of area caches, I see that your cache has been missing for an extended period of time. The geocaching guidelines include a section on disabled caches: http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#cachemaintenance

You are responsible for occasional visits to your cache to ensure it is in proper working order, especially when someone reports a problem with the cache (missing, damaged, wet, etc.), or posts a Needs Maintenance log. Temporarily disable your cache to let others know not to search for it until you have addressed the problem. You are permitted a reasonable amount of time – generally up to 4 weeks – in which to check on your cache. If a cache is not being maintained, or has been temporarily disabled for an unreasonable length of time, we may archive the listing. If you decide not to replace a missing cache, please archive the listing.

I’ve archived your listing to make way for new, active caches to be placed. If you would like to resubmit a new cache at the location, please feel free to do so and it will be reviewed according to the current geocaching guidelines.

Thank you for your contribution to geocaching,

Geocache Description:

The Concrete Geodudes first geocache hide! This cache is hidden along the Cascade Trail in Concrete. The 1.5 terrain rating depends on where you approach this cache from. Coming from the trail, there is a short, steep incline. Otherwise, there should be little difficulty in reaching the location.

The original contents of the cache are: Pokemon Yellow Gameboy game, circuit board from a NES controller, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 for the GBA, a dead Nintendo DS Lite battery and assorted knick knacks.

There are a few parking areas. For the shortest walk, you could park at the Town Hall on Main Street. If you want to walk along the trail, you could park in front of the big silo at the west entrance of the trail or at the Senior Center to the east.

Congratulations to Paragons of Science for FTF!

"The Cascade Trail follows the Skagit River on the rail bed of an abandoned Burlington Northern line. Near the trail's western endpoint, outside of Sedro-Woolley, the Cascade Trail passes through flats and farmlands. As the trail moves east, near Lyman and Hamilton, it's more forested and people can walk right along the Skagit River, providing for some great fishing. At the trail's eastern endpoint in Concrete the Cascade Trail begins very close to Highway 20, but shortly thereafter the trail heads north away from the road and cuts into a forested hillside; this provdies some great views of the Skagit River. To the east of the trail the Sauk Mountain and other Cascade mountains are within sight." -Taken from mapmuse.com
