Fukuroda falls
Fukuroda falls is located in Daigo town of Ibaraki prefecture. The width and the height of the falls are 73 m and 120 m, respectively. This is one of the famous waterfalls in Japan.
This falls is also called "yodo no taki" which means "four times falls". Someone says this name came from a following story. Saigyo Hoshi who was a famous Japanese poet of the late Heian and early Kamakura period visited here in automun. He enjoyed the sightseeing and decided to come here again in another season. Finally, he had come here in all seasons. He said "If you wish to recognize the greatness of this falls, you should better to come here in all seasons".
Anotherone says this falls is dropping down a series of four cascades, resulting in the name of Yodo no Taki.
Recently, because an observatory was extended, you can enjoy the scenery of the whole falls easily. Before that, you had to go the waypoint of a trail up to Mt. Tsukiore or the opposite point of that waypoint if you wished to watch the upper part of the falls. As for this point, a few people seldom come here, therefore there is few safety apparatus such as handrail. Please be careful for your safety. Please enjoy GC at Your Own Risk and do not overstrain yourself. I would like to show you a picture from near cache point.
