This cache is off one of the first housing developments in St Mary's county. Until the nearby Navy base came to this county, it was basically an agricultural based society with watermen and farmers. There were some small towns but with the influx of all the workers for the new base, housing was needed and quickly!
Patuxent Park was built for that purpose and Nicolette Park was a community playground for many years before becoming a county park. In this park are many things to do including a skate park and a sprinkler park. Picnic tables and pavilions are also available.
On your way to this park, check out the street names. You may realize that they are named after WWII aircraft carriers and battles.
The cache had to be moved and the post coordinates will be about 20 feet off.
