Rock Creek Cenotaph Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

bajabetty: Since the area has lots of garbage, I’m going to archive.
Next time I’m out that way I may place a new cache. But it will likely be a few months.

Geocache Description:

Mom and I drive by here all the time, and each time she says, are you sure there's not a cache there. So now there is.
Make sure you park by the cenotaph, no need to park on the highway.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:

To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Requiem
by Robert Louis Stevenson

Under the wide and starry sky,
Dig the grave and let me lie;
Glad did I live and gladly die,
And I laid me down with a will.

This be the verse you 'grave for me:
Here he lies where he longed to be;
Home is the sailor, home from the sea,
And the hunter home from the hill.
