Geocache Description:

Hardy Clan are very pleased to announce our latest meeting at The Public, West Bromwich.

The Public opened its doors in June 2008. Built on the site of the former West Bromwich bus station; the building is operated by Sandwell Arts Trust with a remit of providing various art exhibitions and workshops; as well as being a venue for theatre, cinema, comedy, conferences and music. The interior of this eye-catching dark grey and magenta building must been seen to be fully appreciated. It has even won awards for its unusual lighting. I take my children often and I hope that by bringing you here you can enjoy it too.

Yet again, I would like to thank Chris Maher, Programme Officer, at The Public for allowing us the use of this remarkable building as a venue for our event.

Everyone is welcome, especially the kids. It is ideal for families and is very buggy friendly. Baby changing areas are available. There are no steps and a lift is available to all floors so it is also wheelchair friendly.

As we all know, every cachers must-have item is a pen. I thought that would be a fitting theme for our Pen-Ultimate meet at this venue. So let’s bring some interesting pens to swap and share. Whether it shows your company logo, is a wild shape and colour or maybe decorate your own, bring it along and see which one you pick for your next caching expedition.

The official event will take place 12pm til 2pm but you are welcome to look around the building between the hours of 11am and 3pm.

At 12 o’clock please gather near the café for some Geo-Chat. Refreshments can be purchased in the new PinkTank café.

There is ample parking across the road from the venue; this is free of charge on Sundays.

We look forward to seeing you all.
