MUNTII GILAULUI
Muntii Gilaului sunt cea mai extinsa unitate montana din judetul Cluj, ajungând în nord pâna la Depresiunea Huedin si la Culoarul Capusului, la vest pâna la Muntii Vladeasa, sud-vest pâna la Muntii Batrâna, iar în est pâna în zona Depresiunii Iara-Hasdate. Cel mai înalt vârf este Vârful Chicera Comarii, cu 1.475 m. Alte vârfuri prezente sunt Chicera Negrului (1.497 m), Piatra Fulgerata (1.428 m), Petreasa (1.415 m), Magura Calatele (1.404 m).
La doar 20 de kilometri departare de Cluj, pe vaile Muntilor Apuseni, natura ofera turistilor un adevarat taram al basmelor. Galeria de peisaje pe care o ofera zona este la fel de resfirata ca si satele de munteni din zona. Tancuri stancoase impletite cu pasuni alpine, paduri de foioase impinse printre paduri de conifere si stingandu-se incet pina in regatul brazilor, paraie reci, mai saritoare sau mai nabadaioase dar nicidecum linistite, umpland o salba de lacuri amintind de cele Alpine si peste tot, din deal in vale, imprastiate, parca semanate de un fermier urias, casele si acareturile mocanilor.

GILAU MOUNTAINS
Gilau Mountains are the largest unit of Cluj county mountains, reaching north to the Depression of Huedin and Capusului Passage, in the west to Vladeasa Mountains, south-west to Muntii Batrâna (Old Lady Mountains), and east to the Depression Iara-Hasdate. The highest peak is the Chicera Comarii’s peak, with 1475 m. Other peaks: Chicera Negrului (1497 m), Piatra Fulgerata (Lightning Stone) (1428 m), Petreasa(1415 m), Magura Calatele (1404 m).
Just 20 km away from Cluj, along the valleys of the Apuseni Mountains, the nature offers to the guests a true land of fairy tales. Gallery of landscapes that offers is as spreaded as highlsnders villages in the area. Crags interweaved with alpine meadows, forests of deciduous pushed through coniferous receding slowly till firs kingdom, cold streams, more jumping or quick-tempered but in no case quiet, filling a chain of lakes reminiscent of the Alps and everywhere, scattered from hill to valley, looking like sown by a giant farmer, houses and outbuildings of the “Mocan” people.
