This cache is placed with permission of the grape grower / wine maker property owner. Parking is off road in a parking lot for the winery. Do you recognize the Tulip Tree? Its nearby.
You are up in the escarpment of the Allegheny Plateau - at one of the higher elevations for grape growing in this region and with a nice long Lake Erie view.
This Vineyard cache is placed on a route that will become the Grape Escarpment Scenic Drive Route - a 66 mile drive that will show off the beauty of the Lake Erie Concord Grape Belt, a region of 30,000 acres of grapes and the largest grape growing region east of the Mississippi River.
The route will run from Shades Beach in Harborcreek, PA to Sunset Bay Beach in Hanover, NY. Much of the route will be to the south and above I-90 and Route 20 and the Seaway Trail (Route 5) offering long vista wilt Lake Erie in the background.
