Wow!!! Can you believe it?  TheDeLandDuo - 10,000 finds!!!  Turtletoes / Biggie & CHEF - 15,000 finds!!!  Wow!!!

OK. OK. So, we are planning this Event a little early.  Yes, the Event is scheduled to happen in a few months from now and yes, the honorees are still a few hundred (or so) finds away from actually making these milestones. But hey, it's never too early to plan a big celebration and besides, this may give the "Big Guys" some inspiration and motivation to meet their prospective goals!!!  BTW - The Event will still be on whether or not the honorees make their milestones - we are confident they will be close enough!!!

ABOUT THE EVENT:

Saturday, December 3rd, 2011 11:00 am - 3:00 pm or whenever

Come and join in on the fun.  Meet & mingle with your fellow cachers.  And offer your congrats to Turtletoes / Biggie & CHEF  and TheDeLandDuo.  If you have not yet met our honorees, now is the time to do so.

With your help, there will be plenty to eat.  We will supply the meat course.  Currently, Pulled/Shredded Chicken for sandwiches is on the menu.  Some will be BBQ-ed; some will not!!  We should begin serving around 12:00.  Please plan on bringing something to add to the feast! As a suggestion, if your caching name starts with....

A - F  ==> Bring Sandwich Buns/Rolls; Napkins; Plates; Plasticware
G - L ==> Bring Water; Sweet/Unsweet Tea; Sodas; Ice; Coolers; Cups
M - R ==> Bring Side Dishes like Baked Beans; Mac&Cheese; Veggie Casseroles
S - Z  ==> Bring Side Dishes like Veggies Trays; Fruit; Fruit Trays; Potato Salad; Macaroni Salad; Slaws; Chips & Dip
  or    ==> Bring whatever you want!

Just let us know what you decide to bring!

For your entertainment, we are planning a 50/50 raffle, and there will be a "geo-stuff" raffle (donations accepted) as well.  Raffle drawings should begin around 2:00pm. So bring some cash and your lucky charm!  After all, Christmas will be just around the corner!!!

There will be some new caches in the area to help everyone reach the next milestone of their own!!! PLUS...

ABOUT THE PARK:

Earl Brown Park  

750 South Alabama Avenue, DeLand, FL 32724  

Earl Brown Park is located at the south end of DeLand, Florida. The park has a one-mile walking/jogging trail, picnic pavilions a duck pond and a playground. There are also tennis courts, basketball courts, plus a skateboard and bike park. Dogs are allowed, but they must be on a leash (Sorry Gizmo). AND there are / will be caches in the area to grab!!!

HOW TO GET THERE:

We recommend to taking the following route:

If you are local, we recommend to taking 17/92 to Beresford Ave. Yes, there are some lights, but if you time it right you can make most of them. And besides, you may want to stop & grab a cache along the way!

If you are coming from out of the area, we recommend to taking the following route:

  • I4 to Orange Camp Road - exit 116.

  • Head WEST on Orange Camp Road to South Blue Lake Ave.

  • Turn RIGHT & head NORTH on S. Blue Lake Ave to East Beresford Ave.

  • Turn LEFT & head WEST on E. Beresford Ave to South Alabama Ave.

  • Turn RIGHT on South Alabama Ave & find a place to park!!

Your "nuvis" may not want to take you this way, but we will plant a "caching trail" to help guide you in and for all to grab and enjoy. If you need hotel information for overnight stays, please feel free to contact us.
