The village of Sóstókál was first mentioned in documents in 1389.
The village was surrounded by a swamp. The church was built in the
13th century. The groups of trees around the church represent the
old houses of the village. In the summer of 2011 the catholic
community of the surrounding villages will start to hold meetings
at the ruins of the church.
