A camoed plastic container with just the log sheet, and a moisture pack. This is placed here to mark the location of the headquarters, and main yard for the old Pacific Coast Railway. The old warehouse building, turntable, offices, and shops were all at this location. The original bricks of the warehouse are still being used on the long building on Higuera just north of the cache location. BYOP Enjoy...... Congrats to SLO Trekker for the FTF! Once again.
The Pacific Coast Railway was a wonderful 3 ft (914 mm) narrow gauge railway in the Central Coast of California, that ran betwwen 1873 and 1941. Originally a 10 mile (16 km) link from San Luis Obispo to Avila Beach and Port Harford, it later built southward to Santa Maria and Los Olivos, with branches to Sisquoc and Guadalupe....
The cache is just about right on the spot where the main line came into the yard, and passed just to the east of the warehouse building.
