This is to spotlight the local Ems & Fire Services that are provided to us as the general public.
This cache is located near Union City VFD Sta. 113. they provide fire protection, emergency
medical services,
fire prevention for the residents of Union City, Pa. The Union City VFD operates with 5 different pieces of apparatus:
1133 Engine/Rescue: This is our primary apparatus that answers approx 90% of our calls ranging from Ems 1st Responder Calls, to MVAs, Light Tech Rescue, Fire Suppression, & out of town assistance calls. It carries a varitity of Hurst (Jaws of Life) Rescue Tools, Ropes Gear, Cribbing, Multiple Hand Tools, along with 1,000 gallons of water. It can also carry upto 4 firefighters, along with the Operator & Officer in charge.
1135 Engine/Tanker (Tender commonly known in some parts of the world): 2002 Engine & Tanker combined, Has both a Class A & Class B Foams systems built in, along with a CAVS system. Mulitple tools required for tanker operations, along with 3,000 gallons of water. Built in generator for lighting operations. This apparatus weighs in around 70,000 GVW & will carry up to 4 firefighters along with the Operator & Officer in charge.
1138 Ambulance: Is our BLS EMS Unit that answers all EMS calls within the Boro & surroundding areas.
1139 Ladder: This is a 75 ft Aerial (or commonly known in some areas as a Quint, because of the pump & water tank), 1139 is used mainly for Truck Co Ops, such as opening roofs up, accessing a 2nd floor of a building.
1148 Ambulance is our 2nd BLS Unit to answer EMS Calls with in the Boro and the surrounding area.
