Littel Dokey my First Cache in Memory of Dion Prater (18years)
Update: November 2021 roadworks happening building an overtaking lane at the site making accessibility difficult at the moment. This site is fairly easy to get to as it is on the National Highway A1 I would not advise young children to look for the cache for that reason, I am sure more responsible children would be ok under supervision there is a place you can park your car and mounds of gravel. Dion loved Donkey especially the Christmas Carol Little Donkey which I have video on youtube of him singing it when he was 5 years old. "Littel Dokey" Dion was the worst speller and his friends always gave him sh*t about it. he tried to write it on a window with green white board marker and one of his friends always stood there and Dion would end up in stitches about it. The cache container is quite large compared to others I have seen, I am quite happy to see this cache become a Trackable Transit Lounge of sorts, the positioning of this cache is ideal for trackables heading towards Western Australia, I have collected a fair few trackables around Whyalla, and this is where I place them. EDIT 2 July 2020 I have AGAIN replaced the cache it with a metal money box that belonged to Dion, there is no lock on it, but you will see his writing all over it. The box belongs to Dion, and if it goes missing like the other 2 geocaches, he WILL haunt you. The box does not work as it was intended to, so rather having it sitting at home gathering dust I have turned it into a cache container, Please be careful when grabbing it as the lid comes away from the base. I have alse placed it in a different position and upgraded the cache to a Premium Cache with new Co Ordinates. FINAL NOTE, make sure you take the trip to Whyalla, and have a good look at our wonderful Uniqe Jetty, it has a circular feature, and 165 metres long, It is almost complete, with opening in the next month or so. I just may place a cache or 2 out there. The only Circular Jetty, in South Australia, Australia AND the Southern Hemisphere.
