This cache draws you to an area where prairie meets woodland. Where trails merge and transitions can be experienced.
The cache is hidden just off the trail in Turtle River State Park. The cache is not far from the north end of the trail. To the east of here the terrain flattens out and becomes open prairie. To the west along the river the terrain is forested. This zone, where the east forest meets the plains in the west, is called the transition zone.
This area around the cache is an example of the mixed biodiversity of this zone. Prairie grass and Bur Oak trees mix with dramatic impact. Take the time to explore the park and observe the natural surroundings.
All North Dakota State Parks require the purchase and display of a daily ($5) or annual ($25) vehicle permit, upon entry.
