It is time for the third annual Fired Up for Geocaching Event.
We will be converging at the Smackover City Park on Saturday,
August 27, 2011 in Smackover, Arkansas. We’ll get started
around 5 p.m. Grilled hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided. The
rest of the food is potluck. If you can bring drinks, buns, chips,
desserts, paper products, etc., please do so. If you want to
volunteer for something, just post a note or e-mail me or
allenearl58.
The event has its own Facebook page. Also, if you go to the archived
events for 2009 (GC1RJG7) and 2010 (GC29GBZ), you will see how much fun we
have.
This year we are going to try to incorporate some new activities
such as a scavenger hunt, kid’s cache and geocacher’s
bingo. As usual, we would like to know in advance if you will be
celebrating a geocaching milestone and will be attending the event.
In order to be recognized, we need the info about your milestone by
Sunday, August 21. Just post your info in a note on the event page
or e-mail me @ cjhnsn@sbcglobal.net.
You can also post it on the event registration page at
eventbrite.
And be sure to check
the weather in Smackover before you head out.
G.L.A.D. doesn’t just stand for Geocachers
- Lower Arkansas Division. It also stands for:
Good food. Good times. Great prizes.
Lots of fun. Lots of room for the kiddies to run. Louisiana
cachers.
Allenearl58. Arkansas cachers. Awards. Activities.
Dogs are welcome. Displays. DNFs. DeLorme GPS.
So, bring a lawn chair, another geocacher, your trackable items and
your GPSR and come on to Smackover the last Saturday in
August.
