Geocache Description:


You are now at the former location of the Jasper Union School.
The Jasper Union School originally built on County Road 16 to accomodate students from both Wolford Township and Kitley township. Local historians tell me that at the time, each township was to build their own school. To satisfy both townships, the school was built in Jasper which sit on the boundry line of both townships. In 1964, the original school was closed when a new one was built where you are now. The original school then became home to various orginizations in future years. It is now home to The Jasper Women's Institute. The new Jasper Union School burned to the ground in 1984. A replacement was never built.
